i just want to pay a tribute to the three entertainers above, Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Ed McMahon. we lost three wonderful entertainers this week. my heart goes out to their families and friends and i will keep them in my prayers. i am truly touched by these lost, mainly because i grew up watching them. they were a big part of my childhood. some of the best T.V. in the eighties were Charlie's Angels and Star Search. i wanted badly to have the Farrah hair and her lovely soft voice, and who didn't want to be on star search, i know i did. i use to wish that i would see Ed McMahon come up to my front door with that big milli0n dollar check. Michael Jackson, his music, the dance moves would bring excitement to me as a child where ever i was at any time of day, i loved Michael Jackson. all three of these entertainers will be truly missed. they may have had their ups and downs in the media, but i look at them not for their troubles but for their true talents. may they rest in peace.

Rest in Peace Michael Jackson
You Will Be Truly Missed

i am so excited! last week i ordered from Amazon this beautiful book by The Farm Chicks, it's called "The Farm Chicks In The Kitchen". the book caught my eye because of that beautiful apple pie in the front of the book. i collect cookbooks, so this one was really one i wanted. i just received the book today and i am absolutely in love with the book. i love how the authors, who are good friends, Terri Edwards and Serena Thompson tell us a little about themselves and then they tell how The Farm Chicks started. i love hearing stories about stay at home moms (the hardest job, but worth it) who turn what they love to do around the house and for family and friends and turn it into a prosperous business. that's so fascinating and also inspirational. you must check this book out. the images are so colorful and beautiful and they share great recipes and crafts. if you love that thrifty, retro, country, pretty look, this book is for you. the stories about their life and start is very motivating. overall the book is done in good taste. now, i have to go and finish reading it.

i want to give a shot out to the lovely Daisy Pink Cupcake blog for always finding fabulous things. yesterday she posted about these gorgeous illustrations done by Bella Pilar. i fell in love as soon as i laid my eyes on them. i love her work because it's so whimsical but yet so feminine. her beautiful illustrations are created in gouache (water color). i just love her eye for color and fashion.
Bella's strong ties to fashion began with work in visual display and a career as a makeup artist before going on to her true love which was illustrations. she was trained in art and fashion at both FIT in New York and Massachusetts College of Boston. she has a degree in Fashion Design. her work has appeared in advertising( hewlet packard), magazines(cosmo girl), retail display( Macy's NY), licensing and greeting cards( marcel shurman) and galleries. i think her work is just amazing. i visited her website and discovered that she even does these adorable T-shirts,they are so cute. we have a Papyrus store just down the street from my house, i'll be checking it out today. make sure you check out these links to see more of her beautiful art. also make sure you visit the beautiful Daisy Pink Cupcake blog. all links above this paragraph

i love these beautiful summer cottages and beautiful kitchen i found at Traditional Home. the kitchen is just fabulous, it's so classic and timeless. i love the gray brick the designer used as the back splash, it really compliments the white surroundings. i also am a huge fan of open shelves and these are beautiful. the walk in pantry is to live for. i could cook in this kitchen all day. the cottages seem like the perfect places to rest for summer. i love the use of blue and white, it makes the areas so relaxing, to see more of these lovely homes, please visit Traditional Home.com
